Production line for wire products with high productivity and quality |
In February 2007, BRAKO D.O.O. and WPI Systems B.V. - Netherlands (manufacturer of packaging equipment for metal products) have established a Joint Venture for implementing a project titled: Production line for wire products with high productivity and quality.
The project started on the 1st of January 2007 and will end on the 30th of May 2008. The spin-off phase will last for two years.
The own contribution of the project partners will be 50% of the project budget, and the other 50% will be provided by PSOM (Programme for Cooperation with Emerging Markets).
The main goal of the project is to install machinery/hardware that will enable a high productivity production line for the production and packaging of collated nails and wire netting products. This high productivity line will be comprised of two main production lines: production of nails and production of wire netting. The production lines will include existing hardware, as own contribution of BRAKO, and new modern hardware used to upgrade the production in terms of quality and quantity of end products.
The installation of such a production line will enable the Consortium to become the market leader in the production of top quality nail products in the South-East European and extend to the EU market in future. The market of nail products is increasingly demanding in terms of product quality, efficiency and price vs. quality ratio. To satisfy the stated market demands modern and efficient high productivity technology is required. Joining of the production expertise and local/regional market experience of BRAKO with modern and efficient technology and know-how of the Dutch partner creates the possibility to achieve the project goal. The expected project outcome is a high productivity production line that will be able to offer a prime quality product at a competitive price to the South-East Europe, and the EU market. The production line will be operated by a Joint Venture company, aiming at creating further spin-off opportunities in the region.
This project will also significantly contribute in terms of new employment in the region. It will provide work for 42 new employees
(2 engineers and 40 workers), of which 2 engineers and 28 workers will be employed at the start of the project and another 12 workers will be employed after the implementation of the project (for third shift).
This project opens new prospects for long term cooperation between the two partners. Successful project completion will generate budget and stimulate further own investments into upgrade of technical hardware of other production capacities of the local partner in the region. This will further solidify the position of the consortium on the local and regional market with even better prospects for a substantial EU market entry on long term.
